INTRODUCTION
The purpose of this memorandum is to recommend a revision to Dubuque's snow route
parking restriction system, as stipulated in Section 9 -14- 321.682 of the Code of
Ordinances.
BACKGROUND
On January 4th, the City Council received a petition from fifteen (15) East 24 Street
residents requesting that their street be added to Dubuque's odd /even snow route
system. At its meeting last week, the City Council approved the request.
DISCUSSION
Accompanying this memorandum is an ordinance amending Section 9 -14- 321.682,
adding East 24 Street to the odd /even snow route system. Also attached is the
requisite Effect of Amendment. Both were prepared by City Attorney Barry A. Lindahl.
ACTION STEP
I recommend that the proposed ordinance be approved by the City Manager and City
Council.

AMENDING CITY OF DUBUQUE CODE OF ORDINANCES CHAPTER 14 PARKING,
DIVISION 5 RESTRICTIONS DURING SNOW REMOVAL, SECTION 9 -14- 321.682
SNOW ROUTE, RESTRICTED PARKING BY ADDING EAST 24TH STREET FROM
WINDSOR AVENUE TO CENTRAL AVENUE AS A SNOW ROUTE
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
DUBUQUE, IOWA:
Section 1. City of Dubuque Code of Ordinances Section 9- 14- 321.682(E) is
amended to include the following:
9 -14- 321.682: SNOW ROUTE, RESTRICTED PARKING:
E. Designation Of Snow Routes:
Attest:
1. Snow routes shall be designated by signs. Parking shall be prohibited
from twelve o'clock (12:00) noon to five o'clock (5:00) P.M. on the odd numbered
side of the following streets on odd numbered days and on the even numbered
side of the following streets on even numbered days:
East 24th Street from Windsor Avenue to Central Avenue.
Section 2. This Ordinance shall take effect upon publication.
