MINUTES OF CABLE TV COMMISSION MEETING
October 2, 2019
JULE OPERATIONS & TRAINING CENTER, 949 KERPER BLVD.
MEMBERS PRESENT: Jennifer Tigges (Chair), Ron Tigges (Vice-Chair), Pauline Maloney, Alan
Vincent.
MEMBERS ABSENT: Kathy McMullen. Two seats are vacant
OTHERS PRESENT: Craig Nowack, City of Dubuque
JTigges called the meeting to order at 4:12 p.m.
Acceptance of the Agenda
Upon a motion by Maloney, seconded by RTigges, the agenda was accepted by a vote of 4 - 0.
Approval of the Minutes of September 4, 2019
Upon a motion by RTigges, seconded by Maloney, minutes of the September 4, 2019, meeting were
approved 4 — 0.
Public Input
There was no public input.
Funding Request
Nowack presented a request for $25,500 for replacing the graphics and on-air servers that power the
City's two cable channels. He noted that they were due for replacement and that both current servers
have the Windows 7 operating system that will Microsoft will cease to support sometime next year.
Vincent moved to approve up to $25,500 for the request. The motion was seconded by RTigges and
approved 4 — 0.
Mediacom Cable Report
No one from Mediacom was present to give a report.
Cable N Report
Nowack reported that he would be taking the FAA Part 107 exam tomorrow to keep his remote pilot
certificate current. He also reported that so far this year the Cable TV Division has captioned
approximately 2400 minutes of programming. He indicated that the video to play in the Cable TV City
Expo booth will highlight closed captioning as a new City service.

Upon a motion by Maloney, seconded by Vincent, the meeting adjourned at 425 p.m.
