Proclamation_Visiting Nurse Association Anniversary 2010
PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS, the Dubuque Visiting Nurse Association (VNA) exists to promote and
improve the health, wellness, and safety of individuals and the
Dubuque community through provision of comprehensive, home and
community-based initiatives and services, and
WHEREAS, the Dubuque Visiting Nurse Association was founded in 1910 and
has served the Dubuque community as an advocate for the health
and wellness of women, children, families, and individuals in the
Dubuque community throughout the last 100 years, and
WHEREAS, the Dubuque VNA, now in partnership with the Finley Hospital, will
celebrate its Centennial with a ribbon-cutting event on March 31,
2010 at 12 noon at the VNA Building, 1454 Iowa Street, in Dubuque.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, ROY D. BUOL, MAYOR OF THE CITY OF DUBUQUE, IOWA,
ON BEHALF OF THE CITY COUNCIL, STAFF AND CITIZENS OF DUBUQUE, DO
HEREBY PROCLAIM THE WEEK OF MARCH 28 THROUGH APRIL 3, 2010, AS
“DUBUQUE VISITING NURSE ASSOCIATION
CENTENNIAL WEEK”
