Cable TV Coordinator Craig Nowack is recommending approval of the Cable TV Tele-
Programming Commission recommendation for funding from the Public, Educational,
and Government (PEG) Capital Grant for Access Equipment and Facilities in the
amount of $72,000 for Loras College for the necessary equipment to operate shared
educational Channel 17.
I concur with the recommendation and respectfully request Mayor and City Council
approval.

INTRODUCTION
The purpose of this memorandum is to forward a recommendation from the Cable TV Tele-
Programming Commission to approve a request for funding from the Capital Grant for Access
Equipment and Facilities.
BACKGROUND
The Capital Grant for Access Equipment and Facilities created by the cable franchise
agreement that went into effect on June 5, 2005, began FY10 with a balance of $332,873.
Quarterly adjustments and interest have added $12,729. Currently there is a balance to be
awarded of $223,987.
At its meeting on March 2, 2010, the Commission approved a request from the Loras College
for $72,000 for the necessary equipment to operate shared educational Channel 17. The
equipment includes a playback server and automation system, a graphics system, an editing
system, ingest equipment, a router, monitors, and installation.
RECOMMENDED ACTION
I respectfully request that the Commission's recommendation for this request be forwarded to
the City Council to receive, file, and approve. Thank you.
