RECOMMENDATION
I request a work session with the Dubuque City Council on April 19, 2010 for a
presentation on the new airline terminal presently under design.
BACKGROUND
In 2005, the City adopted an updated master plan for the Dubuque Regional Airport
which has been accepted by the FAA. The primary objective of this plan was to
formulate and maintain a long -term development program that will yield a safe, efficient,
economical and environmentally acceptable air transportation facility. A key component
is replacement of the existing airline terminal facility.
The existing terminal building is significantly undersized to meet future passenger
demands. With the added requirements of security, the existing space is not large
enough to efficiently handle current peak passenger loads.
We have acquired the 103 acres of land required to support the new facility, and we are
finalizing the preliminary design.

Participating in the presentation would be airport staff and our consultants representing
Crawford, Murphy, and Tilly and Durrant Group.
