BACKGROUND The fiscal year 2020 Capital Improvement Project budget provides funds for the repair of the concrete abutments at the Ice Harbor flood gate control structure. DISCUSSION Bid documents and specifications for this project were prepared by IIW Engineers. This project will include the selective demolition of existing damaged concrete and the installation of galvanized bent plates on abutment corners including grouting and installation of adhesive anchors. All work has been reviewed and approved by the Corps of Engineers. BID RESULTS On November 5, 2019, the City received bids for the Ice Harbor Gate Abutment Repair project. Five (5) bids were received for this project. While unit price items were identified, the award is based on the lump sum base bid amount. RECOMMENDATION I recommend that the contract for the Ice Harbor Flood Gate Abutment Repair Project be awarded to Tricon General Construction, Inc. of Dubuque, lowa in the amount of $73,000.00 BUDGETIMPACT The cost estimates for the project are as follows: Construction Contract $ 73,000.00 Contingency $ 17,000.00 Engineering $ 15,300.00 Constriction Administration & Inspection $ 6,000.00 Estimated Total Project Cost $ 111 ,300.00 This project is funded with monies budgeted specifically for the Ice Harbor Flood Gate Abutment Repair Project in the Public Works DepartmenYs FY 2020 Capital Improvement Project budget: CIP# - 7202792 in the total amount of$190,000.
