Steger explained that by adding the special housing type another option will be provided for the Housing Choice Voucher participants; the participants will have the option of using vouchers to assist with rental space for mobile homes The average ranges from $385 to $420 per month for mobile home space rental (not including utilities). If a participant chooses to utilize a voucher for space rental for a mobile home, the mobile home has to be inspected by a Housing & Community Development Department Inspector; code violations for the mobile home will be the responsibility of the mobile home owner. Teresa Bassler, Assisted Housing Supervisor, added that the amount approved for the Housing Choice Voucher for rental space for the mobile home will depend on the household's income. The Housing Commission had several concerns: 1. People being evicted because they could not afford to pay the rent for the space. 2. Would this cause mobile home parks to raise the amounts they charge for rental space? 3. Is the amount being charged for rental space reasonable? 4. This will open options for affordable housing. Commissioner Brad Cavanagh moved to revise the Administrative Plan to add Manufactured Home Rental to the Special Housing Types. Commissioner Michelle Becwar seconded. Roll call. Three (3) in favor; three (3) not in favor. Motion did not pass. 1 MINUTES FOR HOUSING COMMISSION MEETING Adiournment There being no further business to come before the Commission, Commissioner Sam Wooden moved to adjourn the meeting.
