INTRODUCTION
The enclosed resolution is in reference to the public hearing for the North Cascade Road
Water Main Extension - Creek Crossing Project.
BACKGROUND
With the upcoming reconstruction of North Cascade Road and the future extension of City
water service to the Southwest Arterial corridor, the City has developed a phased
approach for the extension of water main to support future expansion and growth. To
support this plan, the City is preparing to extend new water main along North Cascade
Road.
DISCUSSION
The City currently has water main along North Cascade Road which ends at Tyra Lane.
The proposed phased approach for the extension of water main is to install approximately
700 linear feet of new 12-inch water main from Tyra Lane, construct a water main crossing
under the Southfork Catfish Creek, and end the water main construction approximately
100-feet southwest of the creek.
Once the water main creek crossing is completed, the 12-inch water main will then be
extended along North Cascade to Creekwood Drive (Timber Hyrst subdivision) as part of
the upcoming North Cascade Road Reconstruction project. Once the water main is
extended and connected at Creekwood Drive, a critical water main distribution loop will
then be completed while also positioning the water main system to support future
expansion and growth towards the Southwest Arterial corridor.
