OTHERS PRESENT: Marie Ware, reporter Tom Barton
MINUTES APPROVED; Commissioner Blau motioned and Commissioner Bakke seconded, to approve

passed unanimously.
STAFF REPORTS: Director of Events and Operations [Shaun Rice], Marketing Manager [Jesse
Gavin], and General Manager [HR Cook], gave reports based on information in
Commission packet.
General Manager [HR Cook] introduced Corey Morehead, the building's new
Director of Facility Accounting. Moorhead gave some of her background and
gave a brief financial report.
Commissioner Bakke asked if any of the architectural drawings would be on
display for public. Cook explained plan to place the drawings and statistics in the
display case for review. Only posting facts, nothing more. Also we will begin
hosting open houses, public forums, to show people the spaces and discuss
facts.
DISCUSSION/UPDATE Marie Ware began reported the City Council has asked to draft ballot language.
REGARDING FIVE City Council will be discussing the draft of language at the Tues February 4, 2020
FLAGS CENTER council meeting. Commissioners are encouraged to attend.
REFERENDUM:
If Council makes action on the language for the ballot, then city staff will combine
the factual information into a city website with frequently asked questions but
can't get this started until council makes language official to move forward.
Ware passed out Memo from city reviewing what commissioners can and cannot
do as individuals and members of the group when the ballot confirmed.
Commissioner Huff asked if this memo was specific to the Five Flags or more
general.
Ware explained that City Attorney [Crenna Brumwell] was asked by council
members to put together information specific to the Five Flags referendum. She
repeated to ask questions before making any actions.
Commissioner Blau, clarified what can do as an individual vs speaking for
commission.

CREATION OF Cook discussed the inquiries on sponsorships, donations, and naming rights.
DONATION/MAJOR Companies may want to donate to the project, or naming a concession stand or
SPONSOR COMMITTEE: the building. Based on this, HR has worked with the city to understand what the
building can and cannot do.
Staff would like to have two members of the commission assist with vetting these
inquiries or soliciting other offers. Cook asked if any commissioner would be
interested in this. Commissioner Bakke and Commissioner Parks expressed that
they would be interested in helping with these.
OTHER BUISINESS: Commissioner Bakke officially welcomed Corey aboard and look forward to
working with her.
ADJURN; Motion to adjourn was made by Commissioner Bakke, seconded by
VOTE: Commissioner Blau. The motion passed unanimously.
