Minutes_Housing Trust Fund Committee 3 8 10 MINUTES OF THE HOUSING COMMISSION TRUST FUND COMMITTEE DATE: Monday, March 8, 2010 TIME: 8:00 a.m. PLACE: Housing and Community Development Department th 350 W. 6 Street, Suite 312, Dubuque IA 52001 Chairperson Jim Holz called the meeting to order at approximately 8:00 a.m., following staff assurance of compliance with Iowa Open Meeting Law. Committee Members Present: Doris Hingtgen Jim Holz Dorothy Culbertson John Walsh Char Eddy Committee Members Absent: None Staff Present: David Harris Joleen Patterson Certification of Minutes: 14 August 2009 and 29 September 2009 Trust Fund Committee Meeting Doris Hingtgen moved to approve the 14 August 2009 and 29 September 2009 Housing Trust Fund meeting minutes. Char Eddy seconded. Roll Call. All others present in favor. Motion passed. Correspondence / Public Input None Old Business Approval to increase the Rehab Loan amount to $19,000 for the Dubuque Food Pantry, prior approval was obtained by phone vote on 1 February 2010. Doris Hingtgen motioned to approve seconded by Char Eddy. Roll Call. All other present in favor. Motion passed New Business David Harris explained to committee members the proposal where Hills and Dale clients will rent the Step by Step building. All clients will be from Hills and Dale and are 100% physically disabled and income qualified. A Hills and Dale staff person will be on staff 24/7 and have an office in the basement. Eight single persons will rent the units instead of 7; 4 people per floor. Some modifications to the building will be completed and these will be paid with Hills and Dale funds; such as a kitchen on first floor. Jim Holz entertained a motion. Char Eddy motioned to approve the Hills and Dale proposal and Doris Hingtgen seconded the motion. Roll Call. All others present in favor. Motion passed. Information Sharing David Harris and Doris Hingtgen gave the committee an update on the Board of Realtors Program planned for the Washington Neighborhood in June. David announced that the City was award the I-Jobs Award for $240 000 to rehab the row houses at 1767-1795 Washington Street. John Walsh joined the meeting at 8:10 a.m. Adjournment There being no further business to come before the Committee, Char Eddy motioned to adjourn and Doris Hingtgen seconded.
