Duggan and Members of the City Council DATE: June 6, 2003 RE: Claim Against the City By Chessica Sanchez Claimant Date of Claim Date of Loss Nature of Claim Chessica Sanchez 05/28/03 04/11/03 Vehicle Damage This is a claim in which claimant alleges that as she was driving near the intersection of Kane and Carter, she drove over a raised area in the road which she states was unmarked and not visible, damaging her vehicle. Claimant states that the raised area is located in front of a home being constructed near this intersection. According to the report of Mike Koch, Public Works Director, this claim relates to a water and sewer extension project that was contracted and completed for Bob Bisping, a private property owner. The raised, unmarked area north of the intersection of Kane and Carter was a result of the excavation work completed by J & E Excavating. It is therefore the recommendation of Mike Koch to deny this claim, and refer Ms. Sanchez to James Bottomley of J & E Excavating at (608) 348-3449. The Legal Department concurs with this recommendation.
