Acting Leisure Services Manager Pat Prevenas is recommending City Council approval
to increase the budgeted hours for the Multicultural Family Center Assistant Director
position from 20 hours per week to 30 hours per week.
I concur with the recommendation and respectfully request Mayor and City Council
approval.

The purpose of this memorandum is to ask City Council approval of the Multicultural
Family Center Assistant Director expansion of budgeted hours.
The Assistant Director position at the Multicultural Family Center has been vacant since
January 2010. The position was originally funded in the Recreation Division budget as
a part-time twenty -hour per week position. As we gain more experience with the center
operations it has been realized that this number of hours is not adequate in providing
adequate supervision.
We are requesting the position be funded in Fiscal Year 2011 at thirty hours per week at
the pay rate of GE 29 -B, $20.14 per hour with the additional $12,538 in general fund
money being transferred from the Planning Department. Budget Director Jenny Larson
has indicated these funds have become available from additional CDBG funds being
received for administrative purposes in the Planning Department in Fiscal Year 2011.
I recommend this revision be made to the Multicultural Family Center Assistant Director
position for Fiscal Year 2011.
