Proclamation Homeownership Mont
WHEREAS, our nation’s greatest promise has always been the chance to build a
better life; and
WHEREAS, for millions of America’s working families throughout history,
owning a home has come to symbolize the American Dream; and
WHEREAS, expanding homeownership will strengthen our nation’s families and
communities, strengthen our economy, expand America’s great
middle class, and will prepare our nation to embrace the rich
possibilities of the twenty-first century; and
WHEREAS, homeownership has been enhanced by a growing economy and
stable, affordable interest rates, and by the work of the National and
Iowa Partners in Homeownership.
NOW THEREFORE, I, TERRANCE M. DUGGAN, MAYOR OF THE CITY OF
DUBUQUE, IOWA DO HEREBY PROCLAIM THE MONTH OF JUNE, 2003 AS:
“HOMEOWNERSHIP MONTH”
IN DUBUQUE, IOWA, AND URGE ALL CITIZENS, PRIVATE INDUSTRY,
COMMUNITY GROUPS AND FEDERAL, STATE AND LOCAL GOVERNMENTS ARE
ENCOURAGED TO WORK AS PARTNERS TO MAKE THE DREAM OF
HOMEOWNERSHIP A REALITY FOR HARDWORKING IOWANS AND A BETTER
FUTURE FOR ALL AMERICANS.
