The 14-mile Iowa segment of the project will be constructed from the Hickory Creek substation near New Vienna in Dubuque County northward to Clayton County, and then cross the Mississippi River near Cassville, Wisconsin. ITC Midwest is responsible for project construction in Iowa and will begin with pre- construction work this month. These pre-construction activities include soiling borings, environmental and cultural resource surveys which are required by regulatory agency directives, and work on access routes. Actual construction will begin in 2021 to facilitate a planned in-service date of 2023. In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, one of our top priorities is the health, safety and well-being of oui employees, landowners, customers and the commLlnities we serve. Please be assured that ITC Midwest will continue to employ social distancing and other appropriate measures while conducting these pre-constrLiction activities. '., species and wildlife habitat as well as survey for the presence of any cultural resources. These surveys are required by regulatory agency directives. • Access routes—Work will be done to determine the best locations for access routes to move equipment and materials to the construction areas.
