Meeting called to order by Tom Giese at 4:00 P.M.
Motion made by Dave Grothe to dispense with the reading of the previous meetings
minutes seconded by Corey Valaskey..
Members present received a copy of the 2009 International Code and a copy of the City
mechanical ordinance. Also a copy showing the Cities adoption of the International
Energy Conservation, Fuel Gas and Residential code of ordinances.
Discussion was held on the upcoming Code adoptions and the City of Dubuque
Mechanical ordinance.
Discussion was held on the process of making recommendations to the City Council on
the adoption of the 2009 International Mechanical Code, Crenna Brumwell offered the
Board members direction. Dave Grothe asked for information on what code the State of
Iowa was currently enforcing, staff will find out. Corey Valaskey asked if an amendment
is made to the code by amending something out what if any liability did the board
members have. Crenna advised the board members that they have discretionary
function immunity as long as it was done without malice. The board agreed to meet
again on April 21 to review recommendations.
Motion was made to adjourn meeting by Dave Grothe seconded by Jack Papin. Meeting
adjourned at 4:45 P.M.
