Buol" <rdbuol@cityofdubuque.org> Subject: Resilient Community Advisory Commission Dear Mayor Roy D. Buol, I am writing to express my sincere interest in serving on the Resilient Community Advisory Commission. As a Dubuque Native and active community member, I have a strong passion to see our community prosper and grow in accordance with the three pillars laid out under the 2037 Imagine Dubuque campaign. Through my personal and professional careers, I have and will continue to strongly align with each of those pillars including Economic Prosperity, Environmental Integrity and Social & Cultural Vibrancy. Below I have provided reasoning for how I align with each pillar included in the Imagine Dubuque Campaign. 1. Economic Prosperity - Currently, I sit on the Young Professional (YP) of Dubuque Board. Through this position, it is my goal and objective to retain college students in the Dubuque area, while working closely with students, professors and the workforce in order to achieve their goals. In addition, my husband and I are rental property owners/managers and we fully know the importance of creating quality and affordable housing in the area. 2. Environmental Integrity - One of our objectives through Project Rooted is to create a more edible environment while also promoting food rescue and composting initiatives. In addition, we aim to provide more activities for our youth in the community. Also as a parent of four children, I fully understand the need to create a community that is resilient and healthy for future generations. 1 3. Social & Cultural Vibrancy - Expansion of healthy local foods is a top priority under this pillar. Through Project Rooted, we strongly align with this goal. I will continue to work and partner with local organizations in order to achieve our initiatives as well as the initiatives of the City of Dubuque. I know through these experiences, I would be able to provide valuable and fresh insights to this commission. I am happy to speak further about my qualifications and why I would like to serve on the Resilient Community Advisory Commission. Thank you for your time and consideration.
