City Engineer Gus Psihoyos recommends the City Council amend City Ordinance
9-14-321. 602: Parking Prohibited on Designated Streets or Portions, to include no
parking on Chavenelle from Associates Drive to its westerly terminus.
I concur with the recommendation and respectfully request Mayor and City Council
approval.

INTRODUCTION
Engineering proposes to amend City Ordinance 9-14-321. 602: Parking Prohibited on
Designated Streets or Portions, to include no parking on Chavenelle from Associates
Drive to its westerly terminus.
DISCUSSION
Currently, the ordinance reads that no parking is allowed on Chavenelle Road, both sides
from Associates Drive to its westerly terminus, and from Seippel Road to its easterly
terminus. It was brought to Engineering's attention that there is not adequate signage
along Chavenelle Road for the no parking restriction. Previously, Chavenelle Road
terminated west of Radford Road and east of Seippel Road. In 2004, the portion between
both terminus points was completed and Chavenelle Road became the complete street
between Radford Road to Seippel Road as we have today.
RECOMMENDATION
I recommend the approval of proposed amendment to City Ordinance 9-14-321.602:
Parking Prohibited on Designated Streets or Portions, to post no parking on Chavenelle
Road both sides from Associates Drive to its westerly terminus.

VEHICLES AND TRAFFIC, CHAPTER 14 PARKING, DIVISION 1 GENERALLY,
SECTION 9-14-321.602 PARKING PROHIBITED ON DESIGNATED STREETS OR
PORTIONS THEREOF
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
DUBUQUE, IOWA:
Section 1. Section 9-14-32.602 of the City of Dubuque Code of Ordinances is
amended to read as follows:
9-14-321.602: PARKING PROHIBITED ON DESIGNATED STREETS OR PORTIONS
THEREOF:
D. No Parking At Any Time Zones Designated: When signs are erected giving notice
thereof, no person shall, at any time, park a vehicle upon any of the following described
streets or parts of streets:
Chavenelle Road, both sides, from Associates Drive to its westerly terminus.
Section 2. This ordinance shall take effect upon publication.
