Cable TV Coordinator Craig Nowack is recommending approval of the Cable TV Tele-
Programming Commission recommendations for funding from the Public, Educational,
and Government (PEG) Capital Grant for Access Equipment and Facilities of the
following:
1) The City of Dubuque for $10,200 for a programmable, motion - controlled
CamBlock pan /tilt kit.
2) Up to $30,000 to install cabling in the Ice Arena being built on Chaplain Schmitt
Island. This cabling will enable games and events occurring in the arena to be
videotaped from multiple camera locations feeding back to a central control area.
I concur with the recommendation and respectfully request Mayor and City Council
approval.

INTRODUCTION
The purpose of this memorandum is to forward a recommendation from the Cable TV Tele-
Programming Commission to approve two requests for funding from the Capital Grant for
Access Equipment and Facilities.
BACKGROUND
The Capital Grant for Access Equipment and Facilities created by the cable franchise
agreement that went into effect on June 5, 2005, began FY10 with a balance of $332,873.
Quarterly adjustments and interest have added $13,378. Currently there is a balance to be
awarded of $148,435.
At its meeting on May 4, 2010, the Commission approved two requests for funding:
1) The City of Dubuque for $10,200 for a programmable, motion - controlled CamBlock
pan /tilt kit. The application for this request is attached.
2) Up to $30,000 to install cabling in the ice arena being built on Chaplain Schmitt Island.
This cabling will enable games and events occurring in the arena to be videotaped from
multiple camera locations feeding back to a central control area.
RECOMMENDED ACTION
I respectfully request that the Commission's recommendation for these requests be forwarded
to the City Council to receive, file, and approve. Thank you.
