RE: Vacate City Property
Dear Mayor and Council Members,
I am writing to inquire about the possibility of purchasing a portion of a
city alley abutting my property at 1735 -1745 Madison St. I plan on using
this property for greenspace . My proposed plan is to tear down an
existing retaining wall behind my property and build a new one that will
curve heading north so that it will block off the alley. This will allow me to
better level and grade this area for a more appealing appearance. I have
spoken to the adjacent property owners and they are all in agreement.
The attached photo shows the proposed new retaining wall (in red) and
the proposed new property lines ( in green).
1 have contacted the City Engineering Dept. and they have indicated a
favorable condition for the vacating but may need easements reserved for
utilities. I understand that the vacated area would need to be surveyed
and platted at my expense and a fee paid for the parcel, plus publication
