CITY COUNCIL PROCEEDINGS
SPECIAL SESSION

The Dubuque City Council met in a special session at 6:00 p.m. on October 7, 2020 ,
in the second-floor Council Chambers of the Historic Federal Building, 350 W. 6th
Street.
Present: Mayor Buol; Council Members Cavanagh, Jones, Lynch, Resnick, Roussell,
Sprank; City Manager Van Milligen, City Attorney Brumwell (via phone/gotomeeting)
Mayor Buol read the call and stated this is a special session of the City Council called
for the purpose of conducting interviews for the position of City Clerk.
ACTION ITEMS
1. Interviews for the Position of City Clerk (Session 2 of 2): The City Council conclud-
ed interviews with the following candidates for the position of City Clerk in the following
order:
5. Colista (Callie) Anglese
6. Catherine (Cathy) Brandt
7. Trish Gleason
2. Appointment to the Position of City Clerk: Following discussion, the City Council
conducted a roll-call vote selecting Adrienne Breitfelder for the position of City Clerk.
Adrienne Breitfedler = 5 (Resnick, Lynch, Roussell, Buol, and Jones); Shelley Annis = 2
(Cavanagh, Sprank). Responding to questions from the City Council, City Manager Van
Milligen and Strategic Workforce Equity Coordinator Kecia Dougherty will coordinate the
offer of employment through the Human Resources Department.
There being no further business, Mayor Buol declared the meeting adjourned at 8:14
p.m.
