Meeting was called to order at 4:25 P.M. by Chairman Tom Giese, and announced that it
was being conducted in accordance with Iowa Open Meetings Law.
Order of business was as follows:
1. Harlan Willenborg made motion to suspend with the reading of minutes, seconded
by Mike Kelly. Motion passed.
Discussion was held regarding Wildflower duplex. Tim Casey stated everything that
had transpired there and Tim and Jason answered the board members' questions.
They both stated that they would take the 10/11 Experior exams in Dubuque.
Also, the secretary stated that D & D Enterprises Heating and Cooling were
reported by Mark Lewis to have re-connected the 2 condensing units at the
Wildflower duplex. D & D is not licensed. The City Attorney has advised not to
file a municipal infraction against them at this time. The board members
expressed their concern as to what kind of a message this was sending to
mechanical contractors who have a license.
Discussion was held on the reviewing of Dave Cleek's Block test. A motion was
made by Tom Giese to allow Dave the B1 Residential HVAC competency. Mike
Kelly seconded. Motion passed.
Discussion was held on UMC 2000 Chapter 12 Hydronics. The secretary stated
that the city currently does not require or observe a pressure test on Geo
Thermal in ground loops, slinkys, etc. The board thought that the city should
definitely be requiring the hydronics to be tested.
5. Motion was made to adjourn by Mike Kelly, seconded by Harlan Willenborg.
Meeting adjourned at 5:20 P.M.
