Vehicle Damage
This is a claim in which claimants allege that a City of Dubuque Sanitation truck struck
their vehicle while it was parked in front of 462 Burch Street.
According to the report of Solid Waste Management Supervisor Paul Schultz, Lead
Sanitation Driver Dave Sitzmann and Mr. Schultz investigated the accident and took
photographs. As the driver of City of Dubuque Truck #3410 was attempting to enter the
alley at Birch Street, the truck struck claimants' vehicle, damaging the left rear quarter
panel and back bumper.
It is therefore the recommendation of Paul Schultz to approve this claim for the amount of
the lower estimate of $1,888.00. However, claimants are also claiming an amount of
$157.69 for one day's wages in order to obtain two estimates, which is being denied. The
Legal Department concurs with this recommendation.
