Van Milligen, City Manager SUBJECT: Chaplain Schmitt Island Fiber Collaboration Project DATE: January 12, 2021 Through the competitive quotation process for public improvements, the Chaplain Schmitt Island Fiber Collaboration Project was awarded on December 17, 2020, to Utility Service Contractors Inc., in the amount of $103,931, for the base bid and Alternate 1. City Engineer Gus Psihoyos recommends that the award for the Chaplain Schmitt Island Fiber Collaboration Project be officially recorded in the minutes of the City Council. Van Milligen, City Manager FROM: Gus Psihoyos, City Engineer DATE: January 11, 2021 RE: Chaplain Schmitt Island Fiber Collaboration Project The Chaplain Schmitt Island Fiber Collaboration Project will provide for the installation of approximately 4,200 linear feet of fiber optic conduit and associated vaults and handholes around Chaplain Schmitt Island. This portion of the project is part of a Master Co-location and Shared Services Agreement between the City and Interstate Power and Light and Alliant Energy. Alternate 2 will not be awarded at this time.
