the International Fuel Gas Code `Test Pressure' and `Test Duration' were looked at. The board
asked the secretary what currently was being enforced for the testing of fuel gas piping.
Currently we require a test of 15 psi for 15 minutes for 1 /4 psi systems and 60 P.S.I. for 30
minutes for underground piping, welded and 2, 5 or 10 pound systems. Corey Valaskey stated
that no contractor would take the time to figure out the cubic feet of the gas piping system and
we should come up with something that would be easier for the contractors and inspectors to
enforce. He also stated that 15 psi. for 15 minutes test would be sufficient for a fuel gas piping
system of approximately 1900 lineal feet of 2" pipe.
Motion was made by Dave Grothe and seconded by Gary Hillard to require all L.P. and Natural
fuel gas piping systems of'/ psi or 2 psi to be tested at 15 psi. for no less than 15 minutes. The
gauge to be used shall be a 30 psi gauge with 1 /4 pound increments. Motion Carried 7 -0
