SUBJECT: Rate Revision to section 44-201 (a) and Section 44-202
INTRODUCTION: The purpose of this memorandum is to submit to you a proposed
ordinance amendment for your review and approval. This ordinance amendment
would revise paragraph (a) of Section 44-201 fixing water rates for residential and
industrial use and Section 4-202 fire sprinkler service.
DISCUSSION: It is being recommended that our rates be immediately adjusted in our
FY '04 Budget by 1.68% due to the loss revenue from one of our larger users. The old
and new rates are shown on the following pages.
RECOMMENDATION: staff and i are recommending that the attached proposed
ordinance amendment be reviewed and approved by the City Manager and City
Council with an immediate effective date up adoption.

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CiTY OF DUBUQUE CODE OF ORDINANCES
SECTION 44-201 (a), FIXING WATER RATES FOR RESIDENTIAL, COMMERCIAL,
INDUSTRIAL, AND ALL OTHER USES.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
DUBUQUE, IOWA:
Section 1. Section 44-201(a), of the City of Dubuque Code of Ordinances is hereby
amended to read as follows:
Section 44-201 (a). Residential, Commercial, Industrial and all other uses.
(a) The rates to be charged for water for residential, commercial, industrial and
all other uses and purposes by any person, firm or corporation within the City
shall be as follows:
