Van Milligen, City Manager Structural Assessment ClP in the last budget amendment the Airport deleted the Capital Improvement Project for airline counters, which are currently unnecessary. This project was 100% funded through the State of Iowa Vertical Infrastructure Program. As the State of Iowa has approved this grant for Dubuque Regional Airport vertical infrastructure projects, the Airport would like to utilize the maximum grant dollars available and request a replacement project in Fiscal Year 2004. Airport Manager Andy Perry and the Airport Commission request City Council approval of an addition to their CIP budget of a structural assessment for the quonset and shop building in the amount of $9,950, which will be 100% funded with the state grant. Van Milligen, City Manager Andrew D. Perry, Airport Manager ~ Structural Assessment CIP Background: The Airport, in the last budget amendment, deleted the Capital Improvement Project for Airline Counters which are currently unnecessary. This project was 100% funded through the State of Iowa Vertical Infrastructure Program. Issue: As the State of Iowa has approved this grant for Dubuque Regional Airport vertical infrastructure projects, the airport would like to utilize the maximum grant dollars available and request a replacement project in FY04. Request: The Airport requests approval of the addition of a Capital Improvement Project in the amount of $9,950 for the structural assessment of the Quonset and shop building constructed in 1952. A professional assessment is needed to determine their structural condition for long range planning. This assessment should determine if the buildings should be repaired or removed. This information will be useful in the FY05 CIP budgeting process and for the current Master Plan. Recommendation: The Airport Commission and staff respectfully request your approval in the addition of the Structural Assessment to their CIP budget, the cost of this project would be $9,950, 100% funded with the state grant and no local match required. cc: Airport Commission
