Dear Rick,
The Dubuque County Public Health Incident Management Team (IMT) would like to express our sincere gratitude to
GDDC and its partners in assisting the IMT with vaccination of essential workers in our community. After successfully
working collaboratively early in the pandemic (starting in March 2020) to provide COVID -19 guidance and information
to businesses and worksites on a regular and consistent basis, it was a logical first step to contact GDDC for assistance
when we learned Iowa defined essential workers would be a top priority for vaccinations.
Needless to say, it only took one phone call, and you quickly brought your staff together to begin planning for vaccine
information sharing and for creating a process for assessing worksite/business vaccination needs and scheduling
essential workers' vaccinations with our local vaccine providers. GDDC quickly worked with the Dubuque Area Chamber
of Commerce, the Dyersville Area Chamber of Commerce and other employer networks to develop a comprehensive
inventory of businesses and worksites. Planning and execution by you, Dave Lyons and the GDDC staff involved many
phone calls, emails, and meetings, often on evenings and weekends, which lead to offering and providing vaccination
opportunities to Dubuque County employers in a timely and efficient manner. We have received many compliments on
the process and vaccine clinics. These compliments and kudos are a result of the work GDDC did over the past few
months and throughout the pandemic.
Public Health emergency response needs and relies on community partners. The GDDC has demonstrated solid
collaboration and partnership during this pandemic that will continue with the Dubuque County IMT into the future.
Thank -you to the GDDC Team!
Sincerely
