While we can aooreciate the olioht of our firefiohters and Police and their families, we
can also aoor~iate the olioht of ALL THE OTHER DUBUQUE emolovees ~at have lost
their lobs over thee oast months and vears due to budeet cuts in ALL areas, however.
the COMMON oe~on doesn't have a 'Yorum" to tell their tales of wow. we all have
suffered financial hardshios due to budeet cu~. lost lobs, and various o~er issues, but
w~ H~al with fh~m a.~ h~_ef w~ ~an
The newest "solution" to solvinq the budget by raisin~ our utilites is even worse.
~ven ~e fact that natural ~as prices are already bein~ raised such an outlandish
amount, then the taxes on that. and now we want EVEN MORE taxes accused to the
gas pric~ .......... when will this insaniW end, how does anyone expect the AVERAGE,
eve~dav, (not to mention the lower ~an average, fixed wa~e income people) person to
suwive, living on a fixed income (or not evenJ Ws so far beyond our understanding, we
can only hope that you will be able to understand that this solution is not a solution at
all, but will even fu~her make the Dossibilitv of suwival impossible.
We unde~tand it's a dilemma for the council to find solutions to the bu~qet issue,
but raising MORE T~ES on AN~HING can only hu~.
Again, we appreciate all that you have given to the citizens that vote for you, and for
your eye.day "common sense" and 'Yogic" in a# ma~ers[
