No funding match is required. If received the grant would provide funding for "safety kits" for households and portable radios for use by the fire department. • The kits would include items such as smoke detectors, fire extinguisher, carbon monoxide alarm, etc., along with fireworks and fire safety information. These kits would go to homes/families based on demographics and location identified in our community risk reduction plan. The kit would include a firefighter visit and installation of detectors etc. • The radio request would provide seven additional portable radios to be used for large events such as fireworks and airshow, but also to provide sufficient radios for reserve units during emergency call-back periods.
