Dubuque Racing Association President and CEO Jesus Aviles is requesting approval to
spend $15,269 from the Depreciation and Improvement Fund to be used to replace the
sidewalks at the casino south entrance due to settling.
I concur with the recommendation and respectfully request Mayor and City Council
approval.

Issue: Replacement of south entrance concrete
As required in the Amended and Restated lease Agreement between the City of Dubuque and
the Dubuque Racing LTD., I am formally requesting City approval to replace the concrete
sidewalks at the casino South entrance. Concrete is breaking up due to settling and is creating a
hazard. The recommendation is to spend $15,269 with Max Smith Concrete.
The source of the funding for the project is the Depreciation and Improvement Fund (D&I Fund)
If you require additional information or further clarification, please contact me. Thank you for
