From the Meeting September 23, 2021
Present: Pam Mullin, President; Greg Gorton, Vice -President; Rosemary Kramer,
Secretary and Trustees, Robert Armstrong, Christy Monk, and Victor Lieberman
• The Board approved library expenditures.
• At the end of August, expenditures were at 16% and revenue was at 15% of
projections.
• An increase of 5% of circulation in materials over August 2020. Visitors were up
45% over the previous year.
• Efforts to market our new online catalog interface were pushed in August. We
saw an increase of 23% of page views and 69% increase in sessions started over
the previous month.
• Library programming has been focused on outdoor Storytime's and virtual
programs with Dubuque County at a high risk for community spread of COVID-
19.
• Library Director Nick Rossman will be participating in the 2022 class of the
Dubuque Chamber of Commerce Leadership Dubuque program.
• The pedestals for the StoryWalk to be installed with a partnership from the
Dubuque Arboretum and Botanical Gardens have arrived in Dubuque. The
Arboretum plan to install them in the Spring.
• Library Director Nick Rossman shared agenda and discussion regarding the
library's Staff Development Day.
• The Library Board approved an agreement between C-SPL, Dubuque County
Library District, and the Dubuque Community School District to implement a
plan to automatically give high school students library access using their school
ID. The school board needs to approve of the agreement.
• Rosemary Kramer resumed the role of Secretary.
