The annexation territory is comprised of the western on and off ramps of the intersection of the Southwest Arterial and US Highway 151/61 and the intersection of Tamarack Drive and the Southwest Arterial. The 51.56-acre annexation territory provides connection to the City of Dubuque corporate limits for a 156.25-acre property owned by River City Development Group LLC. The request is being filed by the City of Dubuque for approximately 51.56 acres of property. The resolution, maps, and other supporting documentation are enclosed. DISCUSSION The annexation territory is comprised of the western on and off ramps of the intersection of the Southwest Arterial and US Hwy 151/61 and the intersection of Tamarack Drive and the Southwest Arterial. The 51.56-acre annexation territory provides connection to the City of Dubuque corporate limits for a 156.25-acre property owned by River City Development Group LLC. River City Development Group LLC has filed a 100% voluntary annexation with the City Council. By Iowa Code, the annexation will be approved upon acknowledgement by the Secretary of State that the legal description, map and resolution have been received. RECOMMENDATION Staff recommends the City Council approve the resolution to set the public hearing on the voluntary annexation request for November 1, 2021. This date will provide adequate time to complete the notifications, certified mailings, and newspaper publication required by Iowa Code.
