City Engineer Gus Psihoyos recommends City Council approval of the
specifications, form of contract and the estimated cost of $670,700 for
Asbury Road Turn Lane Improvements Project.

The enclosed resolution is in reference to the public hearing for the IA 32 and Asbury
Road Turn Lane Improvements Project, Iowa DOT Project No. Iowa DOT Project No.
STP -32- 1(30)-- 2C -31.
The IA 32 and Asbury Road Turn Lane Improvements Project will provide for the
following at the Asbury Road and IA 32 intersection:
— Southbound dual left -turn lane construction: Existing pavement removal; and
replacement with HMA along with PCC curb and gutter installation.
— Northbound PCC dual left -turn lane construction: PCC median; PCC sidewalks; fl-
inch surface course on the entire southbound corridor from access road north of
Asbury to Holliday Drive; pavement marking.
This project completes the left -turn lane construction and roadway paving component of
the widening contract at this intersection which is already under construction. Traffic on
the Northwest Arterial will be reduced to one lane in each direction in the vicinity of
Asbury Road with a right- and left -turn lane provided at the Asbury Road intersection.
I recommend that the City Council approve the plans, specifications, form of contract
and the estimated cost for the IA 32 and Asbury Road Turn Lane Improvements Project.
The estimate of probable cost for the IA 32 and Asbury Road Turn Lane Improvements
Project is as follows:

Total Project Cost $670,700.00

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF DUBUQUE, IOWA:
That the proposed plans, specifications, form of contract and estimated cost for
the IA 32 and Asbury Road Turn Lane Improvements Project, Iowa DOT Project No.
STP -32- 1(30)-- 2C -31, in the estimated amount $670,700.00, are hereby approved.
