City Engineer Gus Psihoyos recommends City Council approval of the Plat of Survey of
Lot 1-C and Lot 2-C of Dubuque Industrial Center North First Addition in the City of
Dubuque.
The City is contemplating the sale of certain industrial property at the north end of
Innovation Drive. The property will primarily consist of an existing 33-acre parcel of
property at the north end of Innovation Drive legally described as Lot 2 of Dubuque
Industrial Center North Third Addition. In order to make the property more usable for a
potential buyer, the City is planning to include an additional 1.25 acres of the adjacent
City owned property to the west of the 33-acre parcel. The property to the west of the
33-acre site includes vacant land and a stormwater detention basin and is legally
described as Lot C of Dubuque Industrial Center North First Addition.
In order to combine the two properties, the Lot C property (vacant land) will first need to
be platted and recorded.

approval.

INTRODUCTION
This memorandum is a request for approval of the Plat of Survey of Lot 1-C and Lot 2-C
of Dubuque Industrial Center North First Addition in the City of Dubuque.
BACKGROUND
The City is contemplating the sale of certain industrial property at the north end of
Innovation Drive. The property will primarily consist of an existing a 33-acre parcel of
property at the north end of Innovation Drive legally described as Lot 2 of Dubuque
Industrial Center North Third Addition. In order to make the property more usable for a
potential buyer, the City is planning to include an additional 1.25 acres of the adjacent
City owned property to the west of the 33-acre parcel. The property to the west of the
33-acre site includes vacant land and a stormwater detention basin and is legally
described as Lot C of Dubuque Industrial Center North First Addition.
In order to combine the two properties, the Lot C property (vacant land) will first need to
be platted and recorded.
DISCUSSION
Origin Design has prepared the attached simple division plat. The 1.25-acre Lot 1-C of
Dubuque Industrial Center North First Addition is planned to be combined with the
adjacent 33-acre parcel in order to create a more marketable property at the north end
of Innovation Drive. The proposed 1.25-acre division does not affect the existing storm
water detention facility.
RECOMMENDATION
I recommend that the City Council approve the Plat of Survey of Lot 1-C and Lot 2-C of
Dubuque Industrial Center North First Addition in the City of Dubuque by the adoption of
the attached resolution.
ACTION TO BE TAKEN
I respectfully request approval of the Plat of Survey of Lot 1-C and Lot 2-C of Dubuque
Industrial Center North First Addition in the City of Dubuque through the adoption of the
enclosed resolution.

RESOLUTION APPROVING PLAT OF SURVEY OF LOT 1-C AND LOT 2-C
DUBUQUE INDUSTRIAL CENTER NORTH FIRST ADDITION, IN THE CITY OF
DUBUQUE, IOWA
Whereas, there has been presented to the City Council of the City of
Dubuque, Iowa, a plat dated the 11th day of November, 2021, prepared by Origin
Design, dividing and re -platting Lot C of Dubuque Industrial Center North First
Addition in the City of Dubuque, Iowa, to be hereinafter known as Lot 1-C and Lot
2-C of Dubuque Industrial Center North First Addition in the City of Dubuque, Iowa;
and
Whereas, said plat conforms to the laws and statutes pertaining thereto.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF DUBUQUE, IOWA:
Section 1. That the plat dated the 11th day of November, 2021, prepared by
Origins Design, relative to the real estate hereinabove described be and the same
is hereby approved, and the Mayor and City Clerk be and they are hereby
authorized and directed to execute said plat for and on behalf of the City of
Dubuque, Iowa.
Section 2. That the City Clerk be and is hereby authorized and directed to
file said plat and certified copy of this resolution in the office of the Recorder in and
for Dubuque County, Iowa.

RESOLUTION APPROVING PLAT OF SURVEY OF LOT 1-C AND LOT 2-C
DUBUQUE INDUSTRIAL CENTER NORTH FIRST ADDITION, IN THE CITY OF
DUBUQUE, IOWA
Whereas, there has been presented to the City Council of the City of
Dubuque, Iowa, a plat dated the 11th day of November, 2021, prepared by Origin
Design, dividing and re -platting Lot C of Dubuque Industrial Center North First
Addition in the City of Dubuque, Iowa, to be hereinafter known as Lot 1-C and Lot
2-C of Dubuque Industrial Center North First Addition in the City of Dubuque, Iowa;
and
Whereas, said plat conforms to the laws and statutes pertaining thereto.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF DUBUQUE, IOWA:
Section 1. That the plat dated the 11th day of November, 2021, prepared by
Origins Design, relative to the real estate hereinabove described be and the same
is hereby approved, and the Mayor and City Clerk be and they are hereby
authorized and directed to execute said plat for and on behalf of the City of
Dubuque, Iowa.
Section 2. That the City Clerk be and is hereby authorized and directed to
file said plat and certified copy of this resolution in the office of the Recorder in and
for Dubuque County, Iowa.
