WHEREAS, the Fountain of Youth Program was founded five years ago and has planted its roots in
the downtown community of Dubuque; and
WHEREAS, the Fountain of Youth Program aims to change the mindsets that contribute to
generational poverty; and
WHEREAS, it is the goal of the Fountain of Youth program to eradicate generational and situational
poverty from our community; and
WHEREAS, the greatest impact can be made through the joint efforts of community organizations,
government, and the citizens of the community.
NOW THEREFORE, I, ROY D. BUOL, MAYOR OF THE CITY OF DUBUQUE, IOWA, ON BEHALF
OF THE CITY COUNCIL, STAFF AND THE CITIZENS OF DUBUQUE, DO HEREBY PROCLAIM
THE 7TH DAY OF DECEMBER 2021 AS
"ERADICATION OF GENERATIONAL POVERTY DAY"
IN THE CITY OF DUBUQUE, IOWA.
IN WITNESS THEREOF, I have hereunto set
my hand and caused the Great Seal of the City
