I, Harold P. Meloy, County Auditor and Commissioner of Elections, do hereby certify that on
Tuesday, the 24th day of September, 1974 in Dubuque, Iowa an election was held on the following
two propositions to -wit: "Shall the City of Dubuque, Iowa, acquire lands and establish construct
and equip a recreation building thereon in said City?" and "Shall the City of Dubuque, Iowa; ac-
quire lands and establish, construct and equip a recreation building thereon in said City and con-
tract indebtedness for such purpose not exceeding $2 500 000 and issue bonds for such purpose not
exceeding $2,500,000 and levy a tax annually upon the taxable property in said City of Dubuque not
exceeding three and one-half mills per annum for the payment of such bonds and interest thereon?"
I further certify that an official canvass of said dlection was held in the Dubuque County
Court House, Dubuque, Iowa on Monday, the 30th day of September, 1974. Present at said canvass
weie Ray Scherrman, Chairman of the Dubuque County Board of Supervisors and Dallas L. Murphy,
Board member. Also present was Leo J. Chambers, Deputy -Commissioner of Elections, Dubuque County.

I furthercertify that there were seven thousand nine hundred fifty-two (7,952) ballots cast,
of which three thousand six hundred fifty-seven (3,657) votes were for the proposition, (Yes):
"Shall the City of Dubuque, Iowa, acquire lands and establish construct and equip a recreation
building thereon in said City?", and four thousand two hundred ninety-five (4,295) votes were
against the proposition, (No), and that there were no blank or defective ballots, the tabulation
of which is identified herein below as Proposition 'Number Four (#4).
I further certify that there were seven thousand nine hundred -forty-one (7,941) ballots cast,
of which three thousand five hundred twenty-seven (3,527) votes were for the proposition, (Yes):
"Shall the City of Dubuque, Iowa, acquire lands and establish. construct and ecuiD a recreation
t indebtedness
and issue bonds for such purpose not exceeding $2 500 000 and levy a tax annually upon the taxable
property in said City of Dubuque not exceeding three and one-half mills per annum for the payment
of such bonds and interest thereon?", and four thousand four hundred fourteen (4,414) votes were
against the proposition, (No), and that there were no blank or defective ballots, the tabulation
of which is identified herein below as Proposition Number Eight (#8).

officio Board of Canvassers for said County, do hereby certify that the above is a true and correct
abstract of the votes cast at the Dubuque City Special Bond Election held September 24, 1974 for the
bond propositions as shown above by the official canvass of the returns from the city election pre-
cincts.
In testimony, whereof, we have hereunto set our hands and caused this to be attested to and
sealed by the County Auditor as Commissioner of Elections, this 30th day of September, 1974.
