DIVISION 2 SITE WORK
SECTION 0210 - CLEARING OF SITE
1. No structures presently exist on the property with the exception of a small
frame (5' x 59 exit shack from the existing theatre.
2. The overhead electrical power lines and masts will be removed by the
Interstate Power Company and be relocated in the utility tunnel as part of
this project.

3. EXISTING UTILITIES
A. Existing utilities shall be maintained and protected from damage until they
can be enclosed in the new utility tunnel or relocated outside the site.
4. EXCAVATION

broom finish concrete slabs at north and south (4th & 5th Streets),

A. All face brick masonry shall be mechanically bonded with truss or ladder
type longitudinal wall reinforcement, galvanized, #9 side rod x #9 cross
rod, vertically spaced at 16" o. C. Double wire for single wythe and
triple wire for composite wall.

SECTION 0510 - STRUCTURAL METALS
1. GENERAL
A. Structural steel to meet ASTM A-36 steel pipe ASTM A-53 arc welding
AWS: E60+70 Series, high strength bolts ASTM A-325-66. Shop paint all
steel with 850 Chromate primer.
2. FABRICATION
A. In accordance with AISC specification.
3. ERECTION
A. In accordance with AISC specification.

SECTION 0520 - OPEN WEB STEEL JOISTS
1• GENERAL
A. Roof structure shall be open web long span steel joist and shall conform to
the latest AISC standard specification and Section 0510 of these specifications.
B. Bridging shall consist of cross bridging with 1/8 not more than 200.
Make provision for incorporation of cat walk system thru the joist webs.
C. All open web steel joist shall be designed to resist wind uplift.
SECTION 0530 - METAL DECKING
1. GENERAL
A. All roof deck shall be Robertson Acoustical Section 21 (3" deep, acoustical
perforations in flutes), 22 gauge. Sheet steel shall conform to ASTM 446-72
and have received protective coating of zinc. Deck shall be factory primed
and touched up after erection.

masonry fill insulation by Zololite.

2. APPLICATION
A. Foundation: Apply rigid board with manufacturer's recommended mastic.
B. Masonry: Fill open cells as masonry work progresses.
SECTION 0722 - ROOF INSULATION
1. MATERIALS
A. Celotex "Tempchek Plus" composite board insulation. Material shall be
foam with a top facer of asphalt -saturated roofing felt.

A. Install true and straight to steel girts furnished under Division 5.
SECTION 0750 - MEMBRANE ROOFING
MATERIALS
A. Roofing materials shall meet requirements for a roof with top coating of
gravel equal to Celotex 140-C coal tar pitch specification for no
roof decks with a minimum of 1/8" pitch. n-nailable
2. APPLICATION
A. Apply felt layers mopped in with coal tar pitch and embed gravel in coal tar
pitch.
SECTION 0760 - ARCHITECTURAL SHEET METAL
1. MATERIALS
A. Galvanized sheet metal, ASTM A-92, zinc coating, .096 ounces per foot.
2. FLASHING AND COUNTER -FLASHING
A. 26 gauge slip joint at 8'-0" o. C. with concealed back strips.
3. FASCIA
A. 22 gauge slip joint at 8'-0"

4. GUTTER
A• 22 gauge galvanized metal at standing gutter. Edges folded back. Joints

2. PREPARATION OF SURFACES
A. Prepare all surfaces to receive paint or stain and varnish by cleaning, Puttying, prime, seal and filling all imperfections. Protect all adjacent

SECTION 1041 - DIRECTORIES AND SIGNAGE SYSTEM
1. ALLOWANCE
A. The contractor shall include an allowance of $1, 500 for a general signage
system throughout the building.
B. The contractor shall include an allowance of $2, 500 for a directory, coming
attractions, and playbill.
DIVISION 12 FURNISHINGS
SECTION 1240 - CARPETING
1. MATERIALS
A. The carpet shall meet the flame spread requirements of GSA DDD-C-95
standard method and have a flame spread rating of not more tha 75 as
determined in accordance with ASTM Standard No. E84-61.
2. ALLOWANCE
A. The contractor shall include an allowance of $12.50/yard for carpeting,
backing, accessories and complete installation.
SECTION 1270 - FIXED SEATING
1. MANUFACTURERS
A. The following manufacturers are acceptable:
1) American Seating, Grand Rapids, Michigan.
2) Ideal Seating Company, Grand Rapids, Michigan.
2. CONSTRUCTION
A. The following outline specification is based on American Seating Model
29-600: Heavy gauge embossed steel seat pan, contour shaped. Deep
molded Amerfoam polyurethane seat cushions (approximately 1380 fixed
riser mounted seats are required).

A. Fixed seating shall be taken as separate bid.
