Ron Bowen October 139 1976 5. OOLM-IBIA ICE ARENA. Owned by Anoka County in Fridley, Minnesota on the north side of Ydnneapolis. This unit was built in approximately 1970 for approximately $8502000.00 and is a beautiful year around facility which now has a second rink added on in back. Seating is collapsible gymnasium seating for in excess of 1,000 seats. 6. ST. PAUL CIVIC CENTER This facility was completed as a municipal project for the City of St. Paul in the Downtown St. Paul Area. It has seating for over 11,5000and was built to accommodate the St. Paul °Fighting Saints" team of the ?'.orld Hockey League. It also accommodates numerous other events such as Rock Concerts throughout the year. One of its unusual features is the hockey dasher boards which are constructed of plexi-glass all the way up from the ground giving spectators visibility right through the boards. The above listed rinks probably call for somewhere in the area of 100 miles of driving in order to make them all, which is perfectly acceptable for a one day trip. In addition, we have many other rinks which I have not listed which would largely duplicate what you have already seen; I have also excluded the three inexpensive rinks which are almost entirely devoted to skating such as North St. Paul, Bloomington Ice Gardens and Coon Rapids. Please let me know when you intend to come so that I can check on the various rink schedules and make sure we are able to get into each of the structures. truly yours, CONSTRU TION CO29PANY B.
