Dear Ron:
Thank you for your courtesy in our telephone call today. As I indicated I
would like to make our experience available to you during the design phases
of the project. After having been involved in the refrigeration and in some
cases construction of over 80 ice rinks, we feel we have a lot of experience
in the field and the scares to prove it.
One thing we did not discuss on the phone was a possibility which I think you
might find helpful. In the Twin Cities immediate area we have over forty
operating ice arenas at the present time ranging from pre-engineered steel
buildings to architectural masterpieces. It may well be that the principals
of your design team (and should you desire a representative of the owner) should
visit the Twin Cities and make a quick tour of the available facilities. We
would be most happy to act as your guides for this tour. We have available
original costs, operating costs and operational data on many of the rinks
which include spectator rinks, participation rinks, year around and seasonal
rinks, sand floors, concrete floors, freon, brine and ice mat rinks. We feel
that our particular fields of expertise are as follows:
1. Rink refrigeration
2. Hockey dasher boards and other accessories
3. Operating energy conservation
4. A voidance of soil freezing problems
5. A plan review for operational convenience
You asked what my fee would be for acting as a consultant, I told you that
my charge would basically be $200. per day plus expenses. If there is amy way
