Dear Mr. Murtagho
Please refer to your File on the Dubuque County Courthouse which you
officially placed on the stational Register June 24, 1971.
The latitude and longitude readings were supplied by the ':ourty Record—
er and verified by 13artels, N&Ahan, Leitiay, 31aas and Laule Engineering
Co. This firm has just advised us of a slight error in the longitude
reading.
We reported the longitude of the Courthouse as 90 380 48" W.
The reading should be 90 39' 31" W.
We trust this slight discrepancy will not reverse your decision.
May we also express our appreciation for the forbearance demonstrated
by you and other Washington officials who v-ere pestered Ly an excess
number of phone calls from Dubuque on the 24th2 The announcement ,as
poorly handled at this end.
