SUBJECT: Section 8 Program policy changes
DATE: 5 August 10
At its July meeting, the Housing Commission approved the following amendments to the
Section 8 Program administrative plan:
1. Additional behaviors resulting in ineligibility now will include disturbance of the
peace, disorderly conduct and creating a public nuisance.
2. These will not have to be `criminal' behaviors, but only civil infractions, evidenced
by issuance of a municipal citation or by two police calls within a 12 month
period.
3. Commitment of these behaviors 'on the premises' and 'in the immediate vicinity'
of the assisted unit will now be a basis for termination of benefits. Previously,
these had to occur in the unit.
