Prenara.tlon of Construction Documents
Prepare from the approved Design Development Documents for the
appro`,al by Lhe Co.'. _,_fission, draliM',s and E'NBG.fLC iloi'_s Sei'lilg
forth in detail the requirements for the construction of the entire
project including the necessary bidding information and assist in the
preparation of bidding forms, the conditions of the contract and
form of agreement between the City of Dubuque and the contractors.
Advise the Commission of any adjustments to previous statements
and probable construction costs indicated by charges in require-
ments or general market conditions.
Assist the Commission in filing the required documents for the
approval of governmental authorities having jurisdiction over this
Project.
Biddin,, or Noe, otiation of Construction Contract
The Architect, following the City oi: Dubuque's approval of the Con-
struction Documents and the latest statement of probable construction
costs, shall assist the City of Dubuque in ottaining bids and negotiated
proposals and awarding and preparing construction contracts.
Construction Administration
The construction phase will commence with the award of construction
Coritr_ ct and will tern:,mate when the Project is accepted by tile City
of
D,lake pe-ri.odic visiis to the site to faniiliariz;e himself generally with
the progress of the work to determine in general if the work is proceea-
ing ir. accordance wltfl the contract docuir,ents and to check the; quantity
and quality of the work. On the basis of his ou-site observations as an
Architect, he shall endeavor to guard the City of Dubuque against
defect and deficiencies in the work of the contractor. it is intended
that area Architectural -Engineering observation be provided on a basis
to be determined pursuant .vit'r conditions at the site. Several area
Architectural -Engineering firms have been contacted to determine their
availability.
