PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS, Shriners Hospitals for Children is a one-of-a-kind international health
care system dedicated to improving the lives of children by
providing specialty pediatric care, innovative research and out-
standing teaching programs. Children up to the age of 18 with ortho-
pedic conditions, burns, spinal cord injuries and cleft lip and palate
are eligible for admission and receive all care in a family-centered
environment at no financial obligation to patients or families; and
WHEREAS, the Dubuque County Shrine Club exists solely to support the
Shriners Hospitals; and
WHEREAS, Shriners Hospitals for Children, in conjunction with the Dubuque
County Shrine Club, will be setting up shop in at the Dubuque
Masonic Center from 10:00 AM until 3:00 PM on Saturday, September
25, 2010, to screen children that might benefit from care in the Shrine
System; and
WHEREAS, appointments can be made free-of-charge by calling 588-4328.
NOW THEREFORE, I, ROY D. BUOL, MAYOR OF THE CITY OF DUBUQUE, IOWA,
ON BEHALF OF THE CITY COUNCIL, STAFF AND CITIZENS OF DUBUQUE, DO
HEREBY PROCLAIM SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 25, 2010, AS
“SHRINERS HOSPITALS FOR CHILDREN DAY”
IN THE CITY OF DUBUQUE, IOWA, AND URGE ALL CITIZENS THAT KNOW OF A
CHILD WHO MIGHT BE HELPED BY THE SHRINERS BE MADE AWARE OF THIS
FREE SCREENING CLINIC.
