Proclamation_ Voices from the Warehouse 2010
PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS, serves to enrich the lives of
Voices from the Warehouse District VI: Transitions
Dubuque’s citizens, foster appreciation of arts and culture in the Tri-State
region, welcome many new residents to Dubuque, and increase awareness
about the growth of creative industries in the Historic Millwork District through
art exhibitions, events and educational programs; and
WHEREAS, provides a unique cultural opportunity for people of all ages, incomes
Voices
and ethnicities to come together and experience a wide variety of art and
educational programs in the Historic Millwork District; and
WHEREAS, visitors to the exhibition and educational programs will experience
Voices
opportunities to learn more about the arts through the site-specific installation
exhibition, interact with others in a welcoming environment and understand
more about the planned future growth in the Historic Millwork District; and
WHEREAS, the City of Dubuque joins with
Voices from the Warehouse District VI:
in welcoming and recognizing the fifteen national and regional
Transitions
artists, adult mentors, musicians, students, hundreds of volunteers and many
visitors who are contributing to the growth and economic impact of the arts in
Dubuque’s Historic Millwork District.
NOW THEREFORE, I, ROY D. BUOL, MAYOR OF THE CITY OF DUBUQUE, IOWA, ON BEHALF
OF THE CITY COUNCIL, STAFF AND CITIZENS OF DUBUQUE, DO HEREBY PROCLAIM
SEPTEMBER 11 THROUGH OCTOBER 3, 2010 AS
“VOICES FROM THE WAREHOUSE DISTRICT VI: TRANSITIONS DAYS”
IN DUBUQUE, IOWA, AS OUR COMMUNITY COMES TOGETHER TO ADVANCE AND PROMOTE
AWARENESS AND UNDERSTANDING ABOUT THE IMPORTANCE AND SIGNIFICANCE OF
ARTS AND CULTURE AND GROWTH IN OUR HISTORIC MILLWORK DISTRICT.
