Minutes_ Cable TV Teleprogramming Commission 7 6 10 MINUTES OF CABLE COMMUNITY TELEPROGRAMMING COMMISSION MEETING July 6, 2010 CITY HALL ANNEX –2ndFLOOR CONFERENCE ROOM #2 MEMBERS PRESENT: Jennifer Tigges, Pauline Maloney,Sr. Carol Hoverman,Al Vincent. MEMBERS ABSENT: Two seats arevacant on the Commission. OTHERS PRESENT: Jim Barefoot, Mediacom Jill Specht, Loras College Jordan DeGree, Dubuque Art Center Craig Nowack, City of Dubuque Mr. Vincentcalled the meeting to order at 4:27p.m. Acceptance of the Agenda Upon a motion byMs. Maloney, seconded by Ms.Tigges,the agenda was accepted by a vote of 4-0. Approval of the Minutes of the May 4, 2010,Meeting Upon a motion by Sr. Hoverman,seconded by Ms. Maloney,the Minutes of the May 4, 2010, Meeting were approved 4–0. Public Comment There was no public comment. Access Equipment & Expenditures Mr. DeGree presented a request for $17,000 for six additional Apple editing stations to relieve the bottleneck in editing station availability that the Dubuque Art Center has beenexperiencing in their video production classes for high school students. Ms. Maloney moved to approve up to $17,000. The motion was seconded by Ms. Tigges and approved 4 –0. Loras College/Channel 17 Update Ms. Specht showed a brief video of some of the award-winning productions from Loras College produced with equipment purchased through the Capital Grant for Access Equipment and Expenditures. She also showed a series of photographs of the construction of the Channel 17 control room and invited the Commission to hold a meeting there in September. Tentative plans call for the September meeting to be held there, on Tuesday, September 14. Mediacom Cable Report Mr. Barefoot reported various productions occurring in the public access studio and in the editing facilities. Cable TV Report Mr. Nowack reported on some of the productions now underway for the Cable TV Division. He informed the Commission that there have been two successful tests of the solar-powered time lapse package and that it is going to be installed Friday on top of the Fischer Building to record the building 1 of the new parking ramp. He also said that the motion-controlled camBlock tripod setup arrived today and that he hopes to test it later this week. He also said that the quote had come in for the wiring for the new hockey arena. The cost is just under $19,000, which leaves about $11,000 for terminating all the lines.
