Minutes_Electrical Code Board 7 26 10MINUTES OF MEETING ELECTRICAL CODE BOARD DATE: Monday, July 26, 2010 TIME: 4:00 P.M. LOCATION: City Hall, Conference Rm. A CHAIR: Jim Dixon PRESENT: Bob Schmidt, Ron Mueller, Elaine Reiss, Paul Uhlrich. ABSENT: Jim Dixon, Dan Hamel, Kevin Pfohl. STAFF: Steve Neyens. MEDIA: None OTHERS: None Acting chair Ron Mueller called the meeting to order at 4:01 P.M. Elaine Ries moved to dispense with the reading of the minutes of previous meeting and to accept them as typed by staff. Bob Schmidt seconded. All present in favor. Agenda Item: Discuss adding the following to the City Electrical Ordinance: ➢ Licensed electrical persons who volunteer their services (free of charge) to a charitable community betterment type project need not be any employee of the electrical contractor that acquires the electrical permit. ➢ Each charitable community betterment project must be single family residential and be recognized and approved by the Electrical Code Board and the City Council. ➢ Volunteers must not receive pay or other monetary compensation. Upon discussion, Ron Mueller moved to approve the above to be added to the City Electrical Ordinance and send to the City Council. Elaine Ries seconded. All present in favor. Correspondence: None. Unfinished Business: None. New Business: Acting chairperson, Paul Uhlrich brought up the gaspipe problem at 1099 University. Staff reported that the plumber was very reluctant to correct his mistake, but that it is being dealt with. No action was taken by the board. Ron Mueller asked about the Waste Water Treatment Plan project. Staff reported that the state and city licensing requirements will apply and be enforced. No action was taken by the board.
