Mayor Buol read the
call and stated this is a
special session of the
City Council called for
the purpose of con-
ducting a Leadership
and Strategic Planning
Workshop with Lyle
Sumek facilitating.

special session of the
City Council called for
the purpose of con-

and Strategic Planning
Workshop with Lyle
Sumek facilitating.
The City Council
members listed what
they considered the
top challenges and pri-
orities for the City of
Dubuque over the next
twelve to eighteen
months.
The City Council con-
firmed the five-year
goals for the communi-
ty as: (1) Diverse,
Strong Dubuque Econ-
omy; (2) Sustainable
City; (3) Planned and
Managed Growth; (4)
Partnering for a Better
Dubuque; and (5) Im-
proved Connectivity -
Transportation and
Telecommunication.
Objectives for each of
the goals were ranked,
with the short-term
challenges identified
with the actions neces-
sary to achieve each
goal.
