Vehicle Damage
This is a claim in which claimant alleges that during a severe thunderstorm which
occurred on July 4, 2003, a tree limb fell on her automobile which was parked between
2508 and 2520 Jackson Street, damaging the rear passenger door.
According to the report of John Hail, Park Division Manager, the damage caused to this
vehicle by the tree limb was related to a thunderstorm which generated thirty-plus calls
citywide the evening of July 4, 2003.
Because the damage was storm related and the City had not received any calls of
hazardous trees at this location pdor to the storm, it is Mr. Hall's recommendation to deny
this claim. The Legal Department concurs with this recommendation.
