Vehicle Damage
This is a claim in which claimant alleges that as he was driving east on Chavenelle Drive
approaching the Northwest Arterial, a piece of rubber was shot through his automobile's
window by a lawnmower driven by a City of Dubuque Operations & Maintenance
employee. Claimant states that the interior ceiling of his vehicle was ripped and the two
back side windows displayed rubber markings.
According to the report of John Klostermann, Street/Sewer Maintenance Supervisor,
records show that the damage to Mr. Francois' vehicle was caused by an Ops &
Maintenance employee while cutting grass along Chavenelle Drive.
It is therefore the recommendation of John Klostermann to approve this claim for the
amount of $310.30. The Legal Department concurs with this recommendation.

This letter will respond to the claim filed by Mr. Michael Francois.
Our records show that the damage to Mrl Francois vehicle was caused by our
employee while cuffing grass along Chavenelle Drive.
It is therefore my recommendation to pay the claim of $310.30 which is the lower
of the two damage estimates provided.
