SECOND: TOM SWIFT
THE FINDINGS OF THE BOARD WERE:
Judith Odefey, owner of 2762 Beverly Street, requested a
variance on basement ceiling height.
This is a building purchased through the First Time Home
Owner program. A small room in the basement approximately 10
x 12 has been finished for a sitting or TV room. It has a 6'
patio door directly to the exterior and provides egress as
well as more then adequate light and ventilation. This is an
old building in which the basement was converted to living
space. The finished ceiling height is 6'6" and where the
ductwork is covered, it is 6'2". The code requires 7' in
habitable spaces. A ceiling height variance is needed of 6"
for 90% of the room, and a variance of 10" where there is
ductwork.
